I’ve always been interested in what my camera would

reveal through my eyes and how I could make that happen

with great possibilities and more often don't. I have

always felt this about my lettering and my bottle of ink

and a roll of film: there is one good letter in every

bottle ..... but not always one good image on every

roll. Bringing this slide show into existence back in

1987 was quite tedious as I tried to make a story out of

images I didn't take. It's one thing to go out and

shoot with something in mind and quite another to plow

through 10,000 slides of your mother's without making it

a 'home movie' which is, of course, what I did not want to happen.
